They showed Hammy pushing and pulling the shaft in and out at least 4 inches during the race.
During the last race, the talking heads said something about Mercedes can alter camber so they don't have to do the 'weave' to clean debris off, or get some heat, in the tires during yellow, or warm-up laps.
I'm not a big Ham fan, but his 4-wheel drifting through the esses in Q2, and Q3, was impressive.

My understanding is that the regulations were worded in such a way that there was an exception to the "moveable aerodynamic device" rule for steering--and the current regulation allows the steering wheel to change the camber of each of the front wheels--there was no restriction that they both had to go left or right. Mercedes found the hole and exploited it. From next year on, the regulation has been revised that the wheels can only turn in the SAME direction based on movement of the steering wheel.
