I tried this yesterday as well. I pulled the cap off, light probe on positive wire and ground clamp on negative wire. No light at all (not steady or flashing) when "on" or cranking.
Can this mean the module is bad? (or module connections)
If I move the test light ground clamp to the negative battery terminal I get steady on with no flashing.
