I will never brag about a toilet repair or any repair ever going super easy ever again. Since the toilet repair the Elky transmission started leaking. Then the sprinkler system I put in 21 years ago with no issues at all suddenly had a major issue. The breaker blew in the middle of the afternoon. The system was not running at all, just in standby mode.

We have the Koi pond running off of the same circuit and it is on a ground fault plug. That stopped running so investigation I found the sprinkler controller had no power. Then I found the breaker was tripped. Lots of thinking and checking I finally found the connection for the koi pond was packed full of ants. Evidently they decided the wires might be a tasty snack. It fried some wires buried deep under several garden plants.

I designed the system before there was a koi pond. That was added, and then of course a full garden of plants long after I built the system. I knew the koi pond was coming, so I added the outlet to run the pond pump and just guessed where it was going to be needed. Evidently the ants made a nest in the conduit and managed to short it out.

First I mowed the yead, then while in my yard clothes, I started digging up the koi pond connection. I did not come inside until 3:30 our time. I have to get the trenches filled back up as a major rain storm is on the way tomorrow night.

Golly gee, home-ownership is fun.
