A 1983 Accord was a different car, they are both amazingly good. A buddy of mine in HS bought this early one, (maybe a ‘78), brand new. Just an unbelievably great car compared to just about anything else sold in those days.

My stepdad had an ‘84, bought new and daily drove for about 12 years, he might have put some brake pads on it and maybe a battery. Sold it to an acquaintance of mine for $800 in the ‘90s, (it was pretty rusted and had high miles), that guy never transferred it and ran up a bunch of parking tickets in my stepdad’s name. I owe him a broken jaw, if we ever cross paths again.

I had a 77. You hit it on the head, nothing like it at the time. Reasonably fun to drive, comfortable. Great mileage. Only issue was head gaskets reliability.
