How many miles on the engine?
Is your mechanic an air cooled Porsche specialist?
Likely just needs an “Italian tuneup” after being parked so long.
If you can, have someone that specializes in air cooled Porsche’s take a look at it.
If the engine is done, and you don’t need the $$, park it until you return.
