SSI, a quality item!

I have had a set of SSI exhausts on my SC for several years. When first installed, the engine was a stock 3.0. A bit later, I rebuilt it into a 3.3SS and reused the SSI exhausts. I was concerned that the pipes would be too small to support the larger displacement and higher rpms, but as it turned out, they have and do work perfectly. When I rebuilt the engine I used a set of ported Carrera heads and had to flare the exhaust flanges a few millimeters to match the larger exhaust ports in the heads. When I rebuilt the engine in 2013, I detail cleaned the SSI exhausts before bolting them on the engine. The result is an engine that will turn 7500 rpms with good power on the top end. Even with a "stock" 2 in and one out muffler, the exhaust note really sings over 4K! This is a picture taken recently of the bottom of the engine. It has not been cleaned since it was built 7 years ago!
