Use two jacks. One for the trans and one for the motor. First order of business is to get the car up as high as possible. It is really hard not to make a huge post on this one.
Anyway, you want the rear end up to clear the fan shroud once you pull free of the output shaft.
Be careful not to lower the the tranny too much. It is not too bad really. I use a chain from both shock towers and a bolt in one of the tranny holes to hold the tranny up. Good Luck, JMB..
P.S. Webers work fine, but Solexes is a superior unit once dialed in.
