Check out the Blaupunkt Bremen SQR 46. I have never used it, but have seen some reviews of it on the Pelican Forums and elsewhere. The look of it is more suitable to German cars from the 80's than your car, but it seems to fit the bill as a "media receiver" with plain-Jane looks and won't stand out in your car like most other modern aftermarket single-DIN head units. It still has radio and a few other features, but it may fit the bill for what you want.
