I met Richard Stine at an arts festival on Union St in SF almost 30 years ago and purchased a black and white version of this one. Super nice guy- he said "would you like me to sign it?" I said "sure." He cut his finger on the framing clips and a couple of spots of blood were on the back. He drew an arrow pointing to them and wrote "Artist's blood." This is a colorized version:
I reached out to him later on through his website to get his "Workings of the Common Dog" and he said he was starting to airbrush his cartoons and would I like one of those. I said "sure" and got one, which was nicer. Not like this one, but you get the idea.
