Back in 2014 I was bored and looking for something to do. I used to race full time as an expert but had a pretty serious crash in 2002 and hung up my leathers. I always missed it but my wife was terrified of me starting again. I had just started a new business and had a young son so out of respect for her fears I never went back.
Fast forward to 2014 and going through a divorce with her so with no more concern for her I thought I’d get back into it.
So I bought a used CBR600RR rscebike, leathers, gloves, boots, tire warmers, etc so I could go racing.
Needless to say I made it through one race weekend where it was over 100 degrees at Motorsports Ranch in Cresson and realized at almost 50 years old I just didn’t have the stamina to do with the heat or the reflexes to be competitive and I don’t like finishing in the bottom half and the top half was full of young guys hanging it all out that I just couldn’t compete with.
I raced this one weekend in the pics and sold everything I had just bought within the last few months. Lost a ton of money but had a good time.
