been chasing a mole around the turf area at my place for a couple weeks. tried the Amdro trap which required that you excavate a tunnel to place and set pretty significantly and did not work. tried a couple different poisons and a castor oil spray (the spray worked on the voles) with little success as the thing decimated my lawn with tunnels going everywhere.
i finally decided to try the Tomcat trap and it hit the mark the 1st night. significantly less damage to the turf to set than the Amdro unit, much less effort than the oil spray and it hit. if you are fighting moles give this unit a try.
don't want to type this aloud but id pretty much got rid of the gophers a couple months back with standard gopher traps and should they return i don't see why this would not work with them too unless the tunnels are a bit too deep. even the gopher traps require some digging up of the turf where as the Tomcat is much less invasive and much simpler to set.
now to mow, refill the tunnels and see if there is another to get after.
