Dad had a walnut tree cut down years ago, rough milled and stacked in a barn.
Been missing him a lot since his passing so decided to go to the wood shop and make something. I had to plane the boards down, make a jig to cut the boards straight, used the edge jointer to get them edges correct, cut and installed biscuits and then glued up the boards. I plan on using this in our garage apartment for the kitchenette. Best part was being in his shop with my youngest daughter and talking with her about him...we both cried and laughed together.
I’ll now need to take the slab and trim the ends to fit the space. I’m still deciding if I want to simply oil the finish or use poly to seal it.
