the exhaust manifold.. is right along next to it.
So the exhaust heats up the intake
Most cars, keep the intake on top and the exhaust separated below to prevent that

Sounds lumpy to me..not a fan of that kind of sound.. defo not refined.
so it's an LS engine, so those grey are the valve covers, ok, stand corrected.
Still think it's the exhaust is bling not performance tho.
