Looking from the back of the gauge the BLUE/WHITE wire should be on the left (+) and the GREEN/BLACK wire should be on the right. To check the gauge/sender the engine should be cold and the ignition on. Disconnect the cable from the sender and earth it on the engine block. The gauge should now return to low temp position, if it does the sender is faulty. If the gauge remains in the high temp position it is the gauge or wiring to gauge that is at fault.
