Quick update... I ended up with a super clean 2015 Tundra with TRD off-road package, 31K miles. After driving a couple different trucks over the same section of freeway in the Ventura area, there is definitely a difference with the TRD package. The TRD equipped truck was way less choppy and overall absorbed expansion joints....and to Craigsters and BigToes point, the TRD package includes heavy duty Bilstein shocks.
