we went LR shooting in Norway,
was plinking out to 900yds with my 308 Winchester, when one of the Norwegians whips out a Barret .50 bolt gun.. "wanna have a try"
I had a go, couldn't really find good eyebox , but figured, hell, it's a rock face, who cares if i hit anything. squeezed one off, the muzzle blast blew all the 9mm cases up and everybody got peppered with brass.. my Friend has go as well..All good fun
Norwegian goes. now want a go without the muzzlebreak, i'll put on the silencer.
Screws on a can bigger diameter then my arm and when I shot it.. the thing pushed me back on the shooting mat for at least a foot... Good thing i had shouldered it well.
My bud's turn.. and was a TR rifle shooter. you know leather vest, full zen relaxed shooting..he positions behind the thing.. I see him try to find the good eyebox and settles his breathing..
Dude was so relaxed, the gun went off and whacked him like a seal hunter beating a seal puppy on the ice. No mercy, blood gushing out of his nose and eyebrow !!
Norwegians giggling.. "HAH !You got the Barret Mark, you're a real man now"
Payback came later that evening around the campfire in the form of Belgian triple abbey beer.. That was a good trip..
This was our firing point, there are steel plates out to 1850 meters.
It was hard just finding the plates never ming hitting
No wind flags
barely any vegetation
turbulent wind amongst the rocks
