Erratic Boxster Windows
98 Boxster, with the battery negative lead off I opened the passenger door. The window popped out of the upper seal with no apparent damage.
Reconnected the battery and the windows would not go up all the way, ceased to function and moved at inappropriate times.
A friend told me of a 99 Mercedes 300 TD that he had to “teach” the windows by holding the switch closed for three seconds in the up position. I tried it on my Boxster and voila! It worked.
BTW my friend ended up not impressed by the 300 TD, failure of a front spring perch. All the spot welds failed nearly resulting in an accident.
