I'm always left feeling a little let down when I see a ''classic'', and when I start to get close, it turns out to be a kit car. Exceptions being Porsche ''replicas'', which seem to fit in my brain as somehow vaguely authentic in spirit.
If something like that turned up in my lap for next to nothing, that would be a great part of the appeal for me.
