The engine code is 6134792 which is the slightly confusing thing. My understanding is '74 was the first year for the 2.7 correct and since it was built in 12/73 does that make since with the 3 in the code? Does it make sense that this would be the original motor?
The VIN is coded for 1974, the engine is coded for 1973, therefore definitely not the original. In the last 45 years, anything could have happened to that engine. Perhaps the case was damaged, and they found the 73 case and used it to rebuild the engine. Or, that engine could still be the an original 2.4.

The original Maintenance record book might have the original engine #. The only other way to find the engine # that I know of is to use a service like mine to get a CoA type report that has the information. The current PCNA offering, the PPS, requires you to provide the numbers for verification, but I do not.
