hmmm...have you tried using a very stiff coat hanger wire? - grind the end into a flat screwdriver shape and work it around the outer diameter of the oring - twisting the wire as you go - oring is probably really stuck at it's outer edge - doesn't look like it can actually fall into pan from picture - then try bending just the very end of that screwdriver shaped wire and hook under oring - i hate when stuff like this happens (and it always seems to) - a simple thing turns a relatively easy job into a day long ordeal - usually for me it's dropping a bolt and not being able to find it down on the engine - good luck - i know you'll get it out - just the aggravation
