Don't feel bad - lot of folks went that route before the LED technology hit.
The good news is you can save a lot of $ on your electric bill now by switching over!
You can use the same wiring and fixtures - just swap out the bulbs and get a smaller transformer.
I'm not a fan of solar lighting but in some cases it serves a purpose.
