My own preference for a "hot rod Targa" would be one that looks (to the nonexpert) like it is bone stock from the outside...and at least period correct inside (with an exception of sound system...and even then, not gaudy). But, with any options or upgraded mechanicals possible. That is why I have optional factory sport seats and optional fatty steering wheel vice aftermarket. The 7" wheels (on a '74) or exhaust rumble might be a giveaway. No flares or even a duck. Essentially a sleeper. It is not like I am going to make it a stoplight racer to challenge Hemi Cudas anyways. If I wanted a Singer, I would drive one. Nice, but not my cup of tea. Other cars here are great, I love them all...but not what I want. We all have our preferences. That is why I drive Targas...even though so many here on PPOT have told me that they are homely. My preference. This is my hot rod (Old Yeller). My other 911, an '89 Targa, is bone stock (other than Steve Wong chip).
