Not that this will apply to any of us, but our state is trying to pass a wealth tax. And if you leave, it will be retroactive for 10 years. How can Kalifornia make non-residents pay taxes? I'm not trying to PARF up the discussion, but I'm just not sure how they will exert jurisdiction on people who are really gone. Maybe levy the taxes against any remaining property (i.e. 2nd/3rd/4th house)?
