Wow. My dad was sponsored by Penton and had the exact same bike. Competed at Indian Dunes all the time. Then he stepped up to a Suzuki TM400 thru Van Nuys Suzuki. I still have the Suzuki in storage. You're right. CA was essentially a giant motocross course.
