We live in a very nice house with a 3 car garage, that we paid off years ago. We live a very comfortable lifestyle here but we would be paupers in NYC or any coastal city in California.

LOL. The first time I flew out to LA, it was for a 4hr meeting that appeared to be about 20 minutes away (from the map). I gave myself an hour to drive it so I could get there early. I was still stuck in traffic on the 405 when the meeting ended...so I just turned around and came home.
