after market keys

so i have mentioned in another post that i bought a 2012 cayenne - it only came with one key - so i've been looking into getting a second one - lots of confusion - i called porsche .. $470 for the key and $219 to program it..about $700...for a key?? - i bought an after market one online - brand new ..since i've been told once a key has been assigned to a car it cannot be used again - called porsche and they said they could try to program it but after market work only 20% of the time..?? - made the appointment and went today - this guy told me 99% of aftermarket keys don't work - sat there an hour and then he told me their internet was down and they couldn't do it anyway - maybe he was doing me a favor telling me that instead of saying it didn't work..?? - so my question is has anyone had an after market key work? - has anyone had a used original porsche key programmed to their car? - and why wouldn't porsche just say no they don't program after market keys instead of saying 99% don't work - i've tried calling locksmiths - i guess in today's world locksmiths are all mobile and don't have any actual place of business except a van - some have called back and said yes they can do it - they would have to remove computer from car, solder wires to the board and hook it to their computer for around $300-400 - not sure i want to try them if it has to be done that way since all they got is a van and if something goes wrong with the cars computer and it gets bricked how would i ever find them - i guess i'll just live with one key as this process seems way too complicated and expensive
