Hmmm... now that you mention it... I've been ordering more than usual lately, having undertaken a number of projects on one of my son's cars (a suitably hot-rodded '68 912 with a '72 MFI inducted 911 motor in it). Lots of oddball little parts, like heater cables and heater box springs, MFI camshaft dive seal, various relays, etc. I've had a few orders "overlap", wherein I'll order some stuff one week, some other stuff the next week, and the second order ships before the first. Even with all items "in stock".
I'm not complaining - I have the luxury of time, just piddling around on these little projects. I actually had to ask my son to drop it off, and had to "make" him let me work on it. I'm retired, I get bored, I need projects... So it really doesn't matter to me, and I actually hadn't really thought about it until you brought it up. I think I'm just going to go back to not thinking about it. I know not everyone has that luxury, though...
