Was at the Indy 500 in 78 (Corvette pace car). Outside the track before they let you in is where death risk is. Four peeps were killed the night before they allowed entrance. Booze, coke, weed and motorcycles. They didn't broadcast that info.
One story and that's it. Little truck with bed top parked next to our van awaiting entrance in a parking lot outside the day before the race. Kid and Mom come back from walking around and she bought him a tasteless t-shirt for a 9-ish year old kid. Something like "Show me your tats". Dad screams at the top of his lungs about how effing stupid that was because she could have bought the same shirt for three dollars less at such-and-such a place.
Later in the afternoon/dusk he pops out of the covered truck bed after just knocking one off with Mom. Bare naked, junk swinging in the breeze. Pulls some shorts on and then pulls a t-shirt over his head that says SuperDad.
