That's legit or at least seems legit based on stuff that I've been through with them. They've been changing for some time. I think I had to make some config changes earlier this year or late last year.

It's not that you can't use 3rd party apps, it's that they are requiring some new security feature that not all apps support. I had Outlook on my previous computer, and to get outlook to work, I had to setup one of their security keys. Now that I'm on Mac, Mac Mail supports the new security feature.

I wouldn't use a link out of the email, but would search yahoo or whoever your email is through (ATT, etc.. use yahoo mail services) for a website with the correct settings.
