Here's another?:
I pulled the fork and bearing - does anyone have a picture of the bearing by itself and another of the "carrier" where the bearing sits?
a little history on my car, v8 conversion - I paid for a clutch change 2 yrs ago at a local race fab shop. They said that they couldn't find the bearing localy so they used a VW one and machined a sleeve to fit. I would have rather waited for a overnight from the west coast, but they didn't ask.
Anyway the clutch held for a year then started to slip. Eventually it wouldn't hold top gear past half throttle. I am pushing 400hp and figure that a good year is fine for a clutch disk.
Drove it for another year never pushing more than 1/2, but when I pulled the clutch I found the disk hardly worn. I can still read the print! but it is uneven, wear is in a wavy pattern around the disk on both sides, but at the worst point it is not bad.
PP and Flywheel are slick, smooth and somewhat scorched. I called Kennedy and they no longer make my Pressure Plate, but they will trade in for half $ on a new one.
Anyone have any ideas? It was greasey in the bellhousing, input shaft leaking? It is a chevy, so you know it has some small leaks.
Thanks. . .
