I'm not certain that it's a bad idea if the public carries. I do think in terms of what Blue states, but then I also think about the irresponsibility many in urban places like L.A. display when it comes to personal safety and the safety of others.

It is rather a utopian viewpoint, I think, that an armed society is a safe society. I'd buy that for a country like America where all of us have so much to loose in the sense of our property and ideology. But how can it be done safely is another issue.
