THis wouldn't be surprising, really. I've seen a show that indicated that the plague may also have had some folks, that due to genetics were basically immune. If folks had one iteration of a gene, then they'd get sick and recover. If they had 2 instances of the gene, then they didn't even get sick.
I want to say the same show also indicated that AIDS may also have something similar.
I've been thinking that there was something similar for CV. Yes, most folks that are seriously impacted by CV have complicating conditions, but there also seems to be some folks that die that don't seem to have any of those complicating conditions.
