Any state can be a "class 3 state" as its anyone who fills out the paperwork, pays the $200 for the class 3 permit. I just do not want to be identified as a holder of a "machine gun" with the feds, otherwise would have one myself. My friend with the Sten used to live in WA but now is in the Tampa/St Pete area.
Dillion Precision, the reloading guys, have their HQ here in Scottsdale Airpark, and a Huey with a real mini-gun mounted to the door! Makes for some real interesting displays of firepower. They do govt related work at times and are allowed to "play" with it as needed.
I am an old airplane nut and restore old WW2 era fabric airplanes when the time, space and money permits it. Looking to do another 7AC or other Aeronca this spring and summer so if you are in the area let me know and we might get you some more flight time in one!
