Sure, you can use the MSD with the 009 or 050, just hook it up according to the manual. I had a 6A on my 912 (009) before the I did the conversion and used the same 6A on the V8 afterwards. I would used a new coil though, but the stock should work if you want. If I recall correctly, the only difference between the 009 and 050 is the spark retard on #1 Cyl in the 009 due to the oil cooler being in the air stream heating the air headed to that cyl.
