Met Johnson in 2016-ish as he was walking from his car crew to a talk to another car crew at VIR. He was racing a tiny 1970 Royale RP4. I said "I'd just like to shake your hand. He said "What?" He couldn't hear me.
He then barked about the heat and said "Nice meeting you" That works.
Saw Knopfler at 95 Monterey Historics racing an old Lotus. One of those 50's LeMans jobs. Lotus 11? Talked to his crew but never saw him off of the track.
