The Monkey in of itself is an abstraction of a unit of value. The only thing that humans decided long ago to consider as having a real value was stone spear points. Primarily because it is a relatively rare commodity that is immutable over time, unlike banana leaves (tho they are organic, sustainable!).

Toilet Paper or its digital counterpart (Japanese spew machines) is a further abstraction, that at first was tied to a unit of banana leaves. Then politically the decision was made to detach the physical unit of banana from the toilet paper and this was done by Fiat. The political decision is based upon the mindset of the monkey people/society of the time. The institution in of itself is neither good nor bad it is how it is run by the monkey people/ape troop and poodles at the helm of the destitution.

Fred Flintstone and other central Barneys role is to insure that the modern stone age system remains in equilibrium and is thus remains operational so Dino can be fed. Everybody at this point in time at some level understands that, what the tribes are doing to keep the system operational is not sustainable for any great length of time, so we need to find us some bronze.

The construct of the Great Dinosaur Scale in of itself was flawed and is now not operational and is only kept from collapsing by using the artificial construct of using it as an icon to worship.
Ultimately there is going to be a reversion to something more portable, like the Arc of the Covenant or just a coven of sel-propelled witches. This modern construct of society with all of its scientific and technological amenities is headed for the Moon or Mars.
