So I did think of an interesting story. I don't usually remember my dreams upon awakening. When I was a lawyer, I learned that if I ever did wake up and remember my dream, that was a alert that I needed to rush into the office and manually go through all my cases, and I'd find a filing deadline that I'd forgotten. It worked 100% of the time - I never failed to find a forgotten deadline after a remembered dream, and I never failed to be alerted to a forgotten deadline by a remembered dream. It worked for well over a decade. Then we went to computerized calendaring, and forgetting deadlines wasn't such an occupational hazard. Unfortunately, this dream sentry doesn't seem to work in any other aspect of my life or in my subsequent professions. Its been a quarter-century since the dream sentry alerted me; I expect he's gone by now.
