That is great that you had a friendly local shop to guide you through.
I had my 911 PPI'ed by an awesome and very friendly Euro shop, a nice honest guy with whom I still keep in touch with.
I also have friends who purchased cars through a Porsche indy which turned out to be negative experience.
It's truly a mixed bag, so count your blessings, and send that shop a nice bottle of wine for the holidays!
