I think you need a 'this won't hurt' option, and a guaranteed back up. Bear spray or wasp spray. I would not
want to use the last two, but if a dog came at me I would do it.
I live in a 'leash only' area, but lots of people walk their dogs with no leash. Those people have too much faith in my humanity. If their dog runs at me, it's going to regret it.
