I was in retail parts for 3 years many years ago. For the first 2 of 3 years, I worked 40-60 hours as an hourly employee. For the last year, I was a manager. The managers "minimum" schedule was 55 hrs/wk, but I was told that there was probably only one manager in my district that could do the job in that period of time, so I was expected to put in 60-70 hrs/wk. That's the only job that I ever remember having a "nightmare" about.
I'm glad there are folks that do it. Lots of morons and bad people work on their cars. The secret is just not to care that much. Then they can't piss you off. I wish I'd been there, but wow, that's pretty crazy.
Did Jason look like this?
I worked with a guy many years ago that REALLY reminded me of MD in Falling down. Jeans, short sleeved button up w/tie, sneakers, glasses, flat top. Unfortunately, the guy that I worked with was off, and got off of his meds, and eventually (several years later) ended up committing suicide by cop on the freeway in Houston.
