By the end there wasn’t much left of the screw head. Any more and I wouldn’t have been able to get a good grip with pliers.
I didn’t cut a slot in it because the screw was indented in the knob. No way to Drexel it without cutting into the knob anyway.
There is a place in town that will cut me a custom screw out of serious metal. Mostly they service the aircraft industry and the oil rigs. But come winter they get bored and will do anything to keep busy.
