My car did have a front spoiler.

I hit 5800 on I45 between Houston and Dallas once. I don't remember any feelings of floatiness or anything in the suspension.

The time that I hit Vmax on I10 was a couple of years later. I probably needed new shocks and the rear did feel a little floaty at speed.

I definitely think that in good shape, with spoilers, these things should be pretty darn stable on a good road surface.

My boxster's supposed to top out at 171 or 172, I think. I think I've only had it up to 130 or 135, but I haven't driven it as much as the old 911, and certainly no long road trips where I'd be comfortable looking for Vmax. I'm also older now, and while the speed wouldn't scare me, the ticket would.
