One of the former co-workers hit a deer when he was on the highway doing 70. The entire front end of his suburban was smashed. He got it fixed since it was a new car. He then found some shady people to come mount a brush guard on his suburban. They used sheet metal screws to screw it to the bumper. It might stop a bug or a small bird but it would be useless against deer.

This isn't a factory brush guard, but it's beefy and it's welded to the frame.
I only hit the little bastard at about 30...he stumbled off into the woods. Those damn things are resilient.
