I know that the when someone brings up accident damage in the local PCA region facebook group, "diminished value" often gets mentioned, and I've even seen someone recommend a lawyer or something that specializes in that sort of thing.
I wouldn't think that for a regularly depreciating Porsche that's not likely to be collectible, that it would matter much unless it was still very new. IE, 2018 911 Turbo S or GT3RS with 20k miles gets hit, yeah, probably some diminished value. On the other hand, a standard 986 or 996, that's depreciated a fair amount already and has a bunch of miles and regular wear and tear, I can't imagine that it's going to make that much difference.
But, that's just my opinion.
