Those mounts on the cross member of the engine are the engine mounts. There are four on my 67 engine and 2 on the gear box brace. Old ones tend to split and crack and lose their supportive properties. I also replaced all the mounts after doing some engine work and it was well worth it. But if my memory serves me correct they wern't the cheapest of things to buy.
