In a former life when I lived where it snowed, I used an electric (corded) SnoJoe. It was fantastic. Even did +12 inches a few times but had to do double passes since the auger was only 8-10 inches high. I'm sure the rechargeable version works equally well. Small, light, no maintenance, no gas can. The new electric throwers are light years ahead of the old weak versions from 10-15 years ago. The corded versions are far cheaper and have no battery to replace - easier to use than you might expect once you figure out a pattern to avoid constantly moving the cord.
