that rear speaker shelf doesn't look factory to me. for the factory it would have been integral with the vertical part that covers the area behind the seat backs. could those have been some aftermarket hardware used to hold the upper speaker panel to the lower vertical panel, or maybe a PO bolted in some speaker boxes or something similar?
