I went to an all-boys private school and most of us had to travel a fair bit to get to it. Very little socializing went on outside of school due to the distances and we didn’t drive until junior year... if you were lucky to have a car.
HS was where I noticed for the first time that some people had waaay more money than my family did. I had something of a resentment with my parents over having to attend there rather than my local HS with my grammar school friends. I had a rebel without a cause chip on my shoulder that had no basis. In hindsight it was a top school, taught me self reliance, and kept me off the “local” scene.
If they have reunions I haven’t heard of them. If I had gone to a normal school I think it would be nice to go.
