Our golden retriever loved playing outside with his blue ball. My wife and i would stand at opposite ends of the back yard and play keep away. We would toss the ball back and forth and he would try and take it way. During bad weather he still wanted to play, so we would play "hide the ball" I would make him sit still and I would walk around the house and hide the ball. Then I would walk up to him and say "where's your ball"? He would go crazy looking for that ball. Sometimes it would take him almost 1/2 hour, but wouldn't give up. Miss that dog.
