Not being particularly mechanically inclined, I post this at risk of some embarrassment, as the answer may be obvious to most of you. I have a 2000 996. When I accelerate somewhat hard out of a stop while letting up on the clutch pedal, I am just starting to get a short squeal or screech, apparently from the clutch. Can someone tell me what this is, and do I need clutch work or something else?
